QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL WORKER TRAINING

a QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL WORKER

A "QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL WORKER" is a person who is familiar

The simple truth is that your
workers are probably not
"QUALIFIED" by the legal
requirements.

I hold a Texas Master
Electricians License in Texas
#18163.  You can verify this
by clicking the link below my
signature line at the bottom
of this box.

I hold an Unlimited
Journeyman Electrician
License in the state of
Oklahoma # 104898.

If I were to come to your
shop today, I would not be
considered "QUALIFIED"
according to the law.

There are several parts to
being QUALIFIED; I must be
familiar with the equipment I
will be working on, familiar
with the operation, safety
precautions, any special
precautionary measures
relating to that particular
equipment, and I must have
received safety training on
the possible hazards
involved with working on or
near voltages of 50 volts or
higher.

If anything happens and you
end up in court or a lawsuit
over an injury or worse and
this training is not
documented you will be
liable and can lose hundreds
of thousands of dollars or
more for your "failure to
provide a work place free of
recognized hazards that are
causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical
harm..."  (a direct quote from
OSHA 29 USC 654 (5)(a)(1)
General Duty Clause.

In court you are required as
an employer to know what
you are doing and what your
employees will be working
on or with.  You are required
to protect them from
recognized harm and
hazards.  Your failure to do
so or to prove with
documentary evidence that
you have at least tried can
cost you your business and
possibly hundreds of
thousands of dollars.
