Electrical Testing News - TEXAS PSI EXAMS
2011 NEC ADOPTED BY TEXAS ON 09/01/2011
On October 1, 2011 Texas (TDLR) and PSI Exam Services began testing on the 2011
NEC. PSI and TDLR have made several changes recently regarding the reference
materials allowed into the exam site. Please read the entire Candidate Bulletin for
the most up to date info. It is advisable to read the newest bulletin not less than 1
week prior to your scheduled exam. One of the biggest changes was to no longer allow
into the exam “Spiral Bound” or “Loose Leaf type” NEC Code Books. Long notes are
also not allowed. You can have a Tabbed (using permanent tabs, not sticky note type
tabs), and Highlighted Code Book with “brief Descriptive Notes”. Currently the only
NEC allowed into the exam is the Soft Bound Version and it can be tabbed and
highlighted and have BRIEF descriptive notes in the code
sections.
